EBUCC 2025 - Day 1 - Pool Games

EBUCC 2025 is on! The weather greeted us with the sun shyly peeking out from the clouds and a slight breeze. You can feel the excitement for the upcoming games in the air! We’re starting the day off with the Open and Women’s divisions, followed closely by Mixed matches. Today, we’ll follow the Pool plays in all three.

Open and Women’s launching EBUCC 2025

Open Division

We’re starting EBUCC 2025 with an Opening Game at the mPower Arena with 🇵🇱 Solaris playing against 🇳🇱 WAF from Pool A. Solaris took the lead (4-0) at the beginning of the game. Still, WAF put up a fight by working successively to catch up. The game ended in favor of Solaris with the score of 13-8.

A second game from Pool A, 🇸🇪 Viksjöfors vs 🇨🇭 ZU platZHirsch was quite a close one, even though the Swiss team kept leading the game. The match ended with a score of 13-10.

In Pool B, 🇪🇸 Sharks took off with their game and ensured their victory against 🇵🇹 Gambozinos. (13-3). The game between 🇨🇿 Brblava and 🇩🇪 Goldfingers Potsdam was quite even in the first half. Brblava scored more points in the second half of the game, winning 12-9.

In Pool C, 🇩🇪 FT Würzburg took on 🇺🇦 Ukraine 3, winning 12-9. In the second game of the group, 🇬🇧 Bristol Open faced off 🇵🇱 AKS, leading both halves and winning 13-7.

Women’s Division

The Women’s division starts EBUCC 2025 with Pool A games. E6 (🇸🇪) played against Endamazonis Rostock (🇩🇪), with the score 13-5, taking over the game right after their 4th point! 🇵🇱 Troubles took on 🇩🇰 Copenhagen Spinners, and won the game 13-5, taking off completely by their 5th scored point!

Mixed joins the games!

The games starting at 10 AM had wind picking up a bit, more clouds, and just a drizzle of rain here and there. Pretty much perfect weather for Ultimate! This round had the Mixed teams join in the fun and excitement.

Open Division

Pool D started their 10 AM games with 🇩🇰 KFK going up against 🇬🇧 Fatih Ultimate, winning 13-6. They ensured their lead in the first half of the game, only to continue it through the second half. 🇩🇪 Jogo Bronito took on 🇺🇦 Ukraine 1, wholly dominating the game. As a result, they won 13-5.

Both Pool C games at 11 AM had two close-fought matches. One between 🇵🇱 AKS and 🇺🇦 Ukraine 3, with a win in favor of AKS (11-9). In another game, 🇱🇹 Vorai played against 🇩🇪 FT Würzburg, with a loss of 9-12.

At 12 PM, another round of Open matches took off with 6 live games. In Pool A, 🇵🇱 Solaris took 🇨🇭 ZU platZHirsch, establishing a lead by scoring 7 points in a row, at the 7th point of the game. They won 13-6. 🇸🇪 Viksjöfors played against 🇳🇱 WAF, but despite leading at first, the Dutch caught up with 5 points in a row. The second half of the game was very close and ended 11-8 in favor of 🇳🇱 WAF.

In Pool B, there were 2 active games. 🇪🇸 Sharks against 🇩🇪 Goldfingers Potsdam with a sure win of 13-4. Another exciting game in the Open division with 🇨🇿 Brblava going against 🇵🇹 Gambozinos in a very close match. Gambozinos were leading the game however, they lost 3 points in a row, heading to the universe point and a loss against Brblava!

Women’s Division

At 11 AM, games began in the Women’s Division. In Pool A, 🇩🇰 Copenhagen Spinners played against 🇩🇪 Endamazonis Rostock in a close game, ending in a universe point, and a score of 10-9. In the second game of the Pool, 🇩🇪 Seagulls Hamburg started strong against 🇸🇪 E6, but their opponents fought back strongly to take the lead and the win (12-9).

In Pool B, 🇪🇸 Sharks took on 🇵🇱 Polonki in an exciting game, which concluded in yet another universe point. The game ended in favor of the Sharks (10-9).

In Pool C, 🇩🇪 jinX midnight dominated a game against 🇬🇧 Crèche The Zone (13-2). During another match of the Pool, 🇱🇻 Salaspils FK played against 🇩🇪 Undercover Dresden. They lost only one point against Dresden in the second half of the game. The game ended 13- 6.

Mixed Division

The Mixed division began their first games of EBUCC 2025 at 10 AM. In Pool A, 🇵🇹 UFA took on 🇦🇹 Flugsaurier Wels, and led the game with the final score 13-5. 🇬🇧 Deep Dish Discs dominated the game against 🇵🇱 M&M, winning 13-2.

In Pool B, 🇨🇿 F.U.J. played against 🇩🇰 DTU, steadily leading to a score of 13-7. 🇪🇸 Bravas faced off 🇦🇹 Styrian Hawks, building an advantage in the first half, and ultimately winning 10-5.

In Pool C, there were 3 games at 10 AM. 🇸🇰 Outsiterz played against 🇨🇿 Terrible Monkeys, steadily leading to a win 13-6. 🇺🇦 Ukraine dominated in the game against 🇳🇴 Furuset Brickers (13-3). 🇱🇻 Ventspils played against 🇱🇺 Ultimate deLux, where the two teams went point by point at first. In the first half, Ventspils scored three points in a row, which made it easier for them to take the win 13-8.

Afternoon rounds – heading into the final stage of Pool games!

The afternoon games began with the Mixed Division taking over 9 fields, with games starting at 1 PM. Open Division had a much-needed break to enjoy the EBUCC 2025 chill zone, and the Women’s teams played their games at the two remaining fields.

Mixed Division

In Pool A, 🇵🇹 UFA took another win, ensuring a lead in the group. They played against 🇫🇮 PuTi (final score 13-6). 🇦🇹 Flugsaurier Wels took their second victory of the game, this time playing against 🇵🇱 M&M.

In Pool B, 🇨🇿 F.U.J. remains comfortably at the lead of the group with two wins. Their 1 PM game ended with a score of 12-7 against 🇳🇱 Remix. In the second group game, 🇦🇹 Styrian Hawks defeated 🇩🇰 DTU in a close match.

🇺🇦 Ukraine won against 🇱🇻 Ventspils in a universe point, taking second place in Pool C! 🇸🇰 Outsiterz won 13-5 against 🇱🇺 Ultimate deLux, taking the lead in the group; however, they have just a 3-point advantage against Ukraine Mixed. The final match of the Pool had 🇨🇿 Terrible Monkeys take their first win today. They played against 🇳🇴 Furuset Brickers, winning the game (13-7) by establishing a strong advantage, scoring 7 points in a row.

In Pool D, 🇪🇸 Murciélagos established themselves as a clear leader of the group. They won their second game with 🇩🇪 Frubb Frankfurt 13-2. The final 1 PM game in this Pool had 🇸🇪 Solklar play against 🇨🇭 Wizards Geneva. At first, both teams played point for point, after which Solklar took the lead, scoring 4 points in a row. However, Wizards didn’t make it easy for them. They caught up by dominating the second half of the game. In the universe point, Solklar took the victory (10-9).

Open Division

The first afternoon games for the Open division started at 2 PM. 🇬🇧 Bristol Open defeated 🇺🇦 Ukraine 3, which resulted in Bristol Open winning Pool C, and advancing to Pre-Quarters. Ukraine, with 3 losses in the group, went to the Crossovers.

In the second group game, 🇱🇹 Vorai took the win in an even match against 🇵🇱 AKS (11-8). As a result, Vorai took 3rd place in the group, and AKS took 4th, which left 🇩🇪 FT Würzburg in 2nd place with two wins.

The last Pool games for the Open division started at 3 pm. 🇵🇱 Solaris took the 13-3 win against 🇸🇪 Viksjöfors, establishing their lead position in Pool A.

In Pool B, 🇵🇹 Gambozinos took a win against 🇩🇪 Goldfingers Potsdam in a close game. At the same time, 🇪🇸 Sharks ensured their 1st place in the group after their 3rd win today. However, this victory was a hard-fought one! The game against 🇨🇿 Brblava ended in a universe point, with the final score 10-9!

In Pool D, 🇩🇪 Jogo Bronito won with 🇬🇧 Fatih Ultimate 13-7, remaining as a Pool leader. 🇮🇪 CRISIS CLUB took their second win of the day. 🇺🇦 Ukraine 1 lost against them 5-13, and moved on to Crossovers.

Final round of the day with a twist.

With the final games, the wind started to cease, ominous clouds were heading in the tournament direction, and the sea was calming down. A true calm before the storm. 😉 The bells announcing the game stoppage due to thunderstorms rang out at 6:14 pm. And spoiler alert…it was a true armageddon with heavy rain, strong wind, and stealing at least two tents into the sea.

Women’s Division

In Pool A, 🇵🇱 Troubles defeated 🇸🇪 E6 (13-6), and 🇩🇪 Seagulls Hamburg won against 🇩🇪 Endamazonis Rostock (13-8). Pool B games had both winning teams dominating the games with scores 13-2 – 🇪🇸 Sharks vs 🇳🇱 Gronical Dizzines, and 13-1 – 🇵🇱 Polonki vs 🇬🇧 Brighton Women. In Pool C, both matches ended with the score 13-6, where 🇩🇪 jinX midnight defeated 🇱🇻 Salaspils FK, and 🇩🇪 Undercover Dresden won with 🇬🇧 Crèche The Zone.

Open Division

In Pool C, the 4 pm games had 🇩🇪 FT Würzburg defeat 🇵🇱 AKS (13-6), and 🇬🇧 Bristol Open won the match with 🇱🇹 Vorai.

At 5 PM in Pool D, 🇩🇰 KFK won the match against 🇺🇦 Ukraine 1 (13-7). 🇩🇪 Jogo Bonito lost to 🇮🇪 CRISIS CLUB in a universe point (11-12).

6 PM games (Pre-Round of 16) and remaining Pool C were interrupted by thunderstorms, heavy rains, and strong winds, which stole at least two tents. The games resumed at 7:10 pm. 🇩🇪 FT Würzburg defeated 🇬🇧 Bristol Open (13-8 Pool C game). 🇱🇹 Vorai won with 🇺🇦 Ukraine 3 (13-9, Pool C game). In the Pre-Round of 16, 🇵🇱 Solaris defeated 🇨🇿 Brblava (13-7), 🇵🇹 Gambozinos lost to 🇸🇪 Viksjöfors (8-13), 🇨🇭 ZU platZHirsch won with 🇩🇪 Goldfingers Potsdam (13-8), and 🇪🇸 Sharks won with 🇳🇱 WAF (13-04).

The last two games for the day brought a resolution to the Pool D games.

Mixed Division

In Pool A, 🇬🇧 Deep Dish Discs won against 🇦🇹 Flugsaurier Wels, while 🇫🇮 PuTi took their first win today against 🇵🇱 M&M. In Pool B, 🇪🇸 Bravas and 🇳🇱 Remix dominated in their games, and in Pool C, the winning teams were 🇺🇦 Ukraine, 🇸🇰 Outsiterz, and 🇨🇿 Terrible Monkeys (won in a universe point against 🇱🇻 Ventspils. Pool D was full of excitement with two games resulting in a universe point! 🇵🇱 Grandmaster Flash won with 🇨🇭 Wizards Geneva, and 🇸🇪 Solklar with 🇩🇪 Frubb Frankfurt.

The last round of the games in the Mixed Division started at 8 pm, after the thunderstorms. The Pool played continued in the Mixed division. In Pool A, the last games were won by 🇵🇹 UFA, and after a tough game, 🇫🇮 PuTi defeated 🇬🇧 Deep Dish Discs in a universe point.

In Pool B, 🇨🇿 F.U.J. and 🇪🇸 Bravas were victorious. The Pool C winners were 🇱🇺 Ultimate deLux, 🇸🇰 Outsiterz, and 🇺🇦 Ukraine. In Pool D, the games were won by 🇪🇸 Murciélagos and 🇩🇪 Frubb Frankfurt after a universe point.
