On Saturday September 29, the groups for each division were drawn live online on the EBUCC2018 Players and Coaches Facebook Page.
Each team’s seeding was based on their country’s performance at the 2017 World Championships of Beach Ultimate, and the top 4 seeded teams were assigned as heads of the 4 groups. The remaining teams were placed into 3 pots according to seeding (5th-8th seed in pot 1, 9-12th seed in pot 2, and 13-16th seed in pot 3).
To choose the group, a 4th pot containing the letters A to D was included in the draw (corresponding to each of the four groups). Altogether, the draw took 45 minutes and there was no need for redraws, since two teams from the same country were never chosen for the same group.
The tournament is less than a month away. We are excited and looking forward to an amazing championship. All games will have live online score reporting, there will be daily stories and photos, and more than 40 games will be broadcast live. Tune into live.ebucc.eu 26-28 October, or see you there!
