Welcome everyone – athletes, coaches, staff, supporters, and spectators – to Portimão Portugal and to BULA’s 2022 European Beach Ultimate Club Championships!
It is fantastic to see the growth of Beach Ultimate in Europe, and we are delighted to see 61 teams from 17 countries and almost 1,000 athletes playing in the second edition of EBUCC. This is a significant development from the highly successful first edition in Barcelona, Spain, in 2018, where there were 16 teams in each of the Open, Women’s, and Mixed divisions.
EBUCC2022 would not be possible without the support of Portimão’s Beach Ultimate team UFA and the local governmental authorities. BULA is incredibly grateful to the Municipality of Portimão and the Maritime Department for all their support and work. We would also like to thank our fantastic partners, including the European Flying Disc Federation, Lookfly/VC, Eurodisc, Focus Ultimate Photography, and Ulti.tv.
Together, we have done our utmost to prepare a special event and provide the best conditions for all participants. Whether you are here as a player, coach or team support, guest, volunteer, partner, member of media, or staff, you are the reason why we are all here and you are what makes this event so special.
BULA wishes competitive success to all the teams and an amazing tournament. We hope everyone enjoys a fantastic three days of top-notch beach ultimate, meeting up with old friends and making new ones, and sharing lots of sandy smiles!
